Designed in 1952, Harry Bertoia received the award for the American Designer of the Year in 1955 amongst other credits.
The Bertoia collection includes a side chair, bar stool, counter height stool, bench, lounge chair, armchair, high back armchair and asymmetric armchair and has been in continuous production around the world since its introduction.
Knoll historian Brian Lutz once said “Bertoia’s paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant.”
