Since 1956, the Eames Lounge chair has combined ultimate comfort with the highest quality materials and workmanship. Charles and Ray Eames were inspired by the traditional British club chair. Creating a lighter, more elegant and modern lounge chair, the Lounge chair is one of the most notable designs by Charles and Ray Eames in the history of modern furniture.
Average human height has increased by nearly 10cm since this iconic design first went into production. Accordingly, Vitra has developed a new larger version of the Lounge Chair, giving customers the option of choosing between the original 'Classic dimensions' and the new larger size. Both sets of dimensions are given below.
Herman Miller has the sole license for the Charles and Ray Eames collection in the U.S. and the Far East. Therefore the export of these products from the UK to the U.S. is not possible.

Materials
The seat and backrest shells are moulded plywood in American cherry plywood-veneer. The accentuated grain and warm colouring of this wood lend a contemporary look to a timeless design icon.
All cushions are removable. Cushions upholstered in the following Vitra leathers and Nubia fabrics:
Leather Premium: Umbra Grey, Nero, Chocolate, Marron, Snow, Brown.
Leather Premium F: Umbra Grey, Nero, Chocolate, Snow.
Leather Natural: Caramel, Nero, Chocolate, Dark Sand.
Nubia Fabrics: Ivory Pearl, Cream Pearl, Cream Sand, Bamboo Terra, Cream Dark Brown, Cream Sierra Grey, Ivory Peach, Ivory Dark Blue, Ivory Forest Green, Salt'n Pepper, Anthracite Black.
The five-star swivel base and back brace are made of die-cast aluminium, available in the following finishes: polished aluminium or polished aluminium with black sides.
Vitra uses 95% recycled aluminium whenever possible.
Base available with a choice of glides for carpet or hard flooring.
