Fun 1STM Floor Light by Verner Panton for Verpan.
Panton created the Fun collection in 1964 by trying to develop a light that would cast a diffused light while making a statement in a colourful room. In his initial design, he utilised metal discs but swapped these out for mother-of-pearl after coming across some seashells on a beach in Malaysia.
Panton's connection to nature is evident in the Fun 1STM Floor light, where the natural mother of pearls hangs from an elevated three-ring frame.
This unique construction creates delicate patterns on surrounding surfaces when the light is turned on, providing an ethereal atmosphere.
In addition, the 1STM creates a gentle crystalline sound when a soft draught stirs the hanging discs.

Materials
Discs are made of seashell, with chrome-plated or brass-finish metal frame and stainless steel rings.
Transparent 2.2m plastic cord, with on/off switch.
