Fun 11DM pendant lamp by Verner Panton for Verpan.
Panton's connection to nature is evident in the Fun 11DM Pendant, where natural mother of pearls is hung on five rings to create delicate patterns on surrounding surfaces when the light is turned on.
Panton created the Fun collection in 1964 when trying to develop a light that would cast a diffused light while making a statement in a colourful room. In his initial design, he utilised metal discs but swapped these out for mother-of-pearl after coming across some seashells on a beach in Malaysia.
In addition to providing ethereal light, the Fun 11DM creates a gentle crystalline sound when a soft draught stirs the hanging discs.
Chrome ceiling canopy included.

Materials
Discs are made of mother-of-pearl. Small rings are made of stainless steel. Ceiling canopy and frame are made of metal - chrome plated or brass finished.
