Fun 1TM Table Light by Verner Panton for Verpan.
In 1964, Panton conceived the Fun collection out of the desire to create a light that not only diffused light effectively but also made a bold statement in any space.
Originally, Panton experimented with metal discs for the design but later switched to mother-of-pearl after encountering seashells during a beach stroll in Malaysia.
The Fun 1TM table light epitomises Panton's connection to the natural world, featuring the delicate mother-of-pearl cascading from a raised three-ring frame. When illuminated, this distinctive arrangement creates intricate patterns on surrounding surfaces, imbuing the space with an ethereal atmosphere.
When caught by wind, the hanging discs create a gentle tinkling sound, adding an additional sensory experience to the piece.
